PADI Courses

We teach the full range of PADI Recreational Scuba Diving Courses. PADI is the most widely accepted Scuba Diving federation in the World and have revolutionised the teaching of Scuba. At Diving with Nic we build on this by implementing even higher standards such as a 2:1 ratio per professional, doing all initial training in a swimming pool and having fully interactive classroom sessions rather than leaving you to learn by yourself. Please get in contact with us for any more information or to book.

Entry-level

For those wishing to gain their first certification these are the courses for you. There are two options: PADI Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water Diver.

  • PADI Open Water Diver is the most common diving certification in the World. It is a 4-day course and comprises of 5 classroom sessions, 5 pool sessions and 4 dives in the sea held over 2 days. Students progress step-by-step down to a maximum depth of 18 metres.
  • PADI Scuba Diver is a less well-known certification and comprises of about two thirds of an Open Water Course. It is 2.5 days long. It is also perfect for younger teenagers or those unable to complete some of the more involved skills of the Open Water Course such as basic rescue skills. Students progress step-by-step down to a maximum depth of 12 metres.

Once you have completed this course we recommend you gain experience by going on dive trips or by taking some specialty courses. Suitable courses for this level of diver include Photography, Nitrox, Buoyancy and Dry Suit. Please contact us for more information.

Advanced Courses

Once you have gained some experience then the next step is taking an advanced course that takes you further into the World of diving. These include the PADI Advanced Open Water and PADI Rescue Diver Courses.

  • PADI Advanced Open Water is a course that takes you into a more involved part of diving. The course takes you deeper (30m), shows you new things (shipwrecks), and teaches you more techniques (buoyancy and navigation). There are 2 required dives (Deep & Navigation) and you get to select 3 more from a wide range.
  • PADI Rescue Diver is a course for Advanced Open Water Divers. It focuses on how to respond if the very worst would happen during a dive. It is an essential course if you are going to dive independently of a dive guide. To qualify as a PADI Rescue Diver you need to have First Aid training which we can provide as well.
